DVULI is recruiting alumni to participate in an Advisory Committee on Latino ministry leadership.

Over the last couple of years, the leadership team at the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative (DVULI) has been exploring and implementing a variety of strategies to increase the participation rate of Latino youth leaders in its programs. Thus far efforts have not garnered the desired results.

Last year, DVULI commissioned Urban Strategies–a research and advocacy organization–to conduct a study focusing on why Latino participation rates were low compared to the high Latino population in recruitment areas.

Moving forward with one of the recommendations of Urban Strategies, DVULI would like to create an Advisory Committee on Latino ministry leadership. The team is looking for alumni who are willing to be part of the initial conversation of what the role of this committee could be and how it will impact the future work of DVULI.

If you are currently working (or have worked in the past) with the Latino community, have a strong connection with Hispanic churches (first and second generation is preferred), and have time to meet at least quarterly, DVULI would like to hear from you.

Please contact zoraidav@dvuli.org by December 8, 2017 to express your interest in engaging the work of DVULI at this level. An initial meeting is being targeted for the month of January 2018.
